Why Nova Boost Over Generic Supplements

Not Every Supplement Understands
What Your Surgery Changed

Generic pharmacy multivitamins are designed for healthy adults with normal digestion. Bariatric patients aren't that. Here's what makes Nova Boost clinically different.

🏥
Made by a Surgical Company
Nova Boost is created under the XNY Medical umbrella — a company that has manufactured surgical instruments for bariatric procedures for 40 years. We understand the anatomy these surgeries create.
👨‍⚕️
Formulated with Bariatric Surgeons
Our Advisory Board includes practicing bariatric surgeons from across multiple countries — not just nutritionists. Surgeons who know what changes inside your body.
🎯
Surgery-Specific, Not WLS-Generic
GB BOOST and GS BOOST are different products with different formulas. Bypass and Sleeve create different absorption environments. One formula cannot serve both equally.
🧪
Superior Ingredient Forms
Iron Bisglycinate (not sulphate). Zinc Citrate. Cyanocobalamin B12. We use the most bioavailable forms of each nutrient — especially important when your gut can no longer compensate.
🌙
Halal Certified & international-Ready
Manufactured in Türkiye, free from alcohol, pork derivatives and MSG. Designed for patients globally and bariatric patient population — a need that most European supplement brands overlook.
🔬
Protein That Heals, Not Just Fills
Our instant soups use Whey + Pea + Hydrolyzed Collagen — not just protein powder. Collagen peptides support wound healing and joint health in the critical post-operative weeks.

Gastric Bypass Journey

Stronger After
Bypass Surgery

Your surgery changed how your body absorbs nutrients — permanently. We're here to help you understand exactly what changed, what deficiencies to watch for, and how to stay strong for life.

What your surgery changed
Stomach size: Reduced to approx. the size of an egg (15–30ml)
Duodenum bypassed: The primary site for iron, calcium and zinc absorption is bypassed
Less gastric acid: Reduced acid means less intrinsic factor — the protein that allows B12 absorption
Food intolerances: Meat, dairy and dense foods may be temporarily difficult — reducing nutrient sources
The result: Even a balanced post-bypass diet often cannot provide enough B12, iron, vitamin D, zinc and folic acid. Lifelong targeted supplementation is the clinical standard of care.
What Happens to Your Body

Why Regular Vitamins
Aren't Enough

A standard pharmacy multivitamin is designed for a person with a normal-sized stomach, normal acid production, and an intact duodenum. After Gastric Bypass, none of those conditions exist. The nutrients that are hardest to absorb post-bypass are the exact ones most standard multivitamins under-dose.

⚠️ The critical gap
Standard multivitamins provide 100–200% RDA of B12 — sufficient for a normal gut. After bypass, patients require 1,000–2,000% RDA to achieve adequate blood levels. GB BOOST provides 14,000% RDA of B12 to address this reality.
Nutrients at risk after Gastric Bypass
🔵
Vitamin B12 — High Risk
Loss of intrinsic factor and gastric acid makes oral B12 absorption nearly impossible without mega-dosing. Causes fatigue, nerve damage if untreated.
🔴
Iron — High Risk
Absorbed in the duodenum (now bypassed). Women of reproductive age are at especially high risk. Causes anaemia, extreme fatigue, hair loss.
☀️
Vitamin D3 — High Risk
Fat-soluble vitamin absorbed in the bypassed section. Deficiency leads to bone density loss over years. Already low in most bariatric patients pre-surgery.
🌿
Folic Acid — Moderate Risk
Absorbed in the jejunum. Critical for women planning pregnancy. Deficiency causes megaloblastic anaemia.
🔶
Zinc — Moderate Risk
Absorbed in the duodenum. Deficiency manifests as hair thinning, impaired wound healing, immune weakness.
Recovery Timeline

Your First Weeks
After Surgery

Surgery Day
Gastric Bypass performed under anaesthesia. Hospital stay 1–3 days typically.
Week 1–2
Liquid diet. Begin daily supplementation as soon as tolerated — ideally crushed or chewable format.
Week 4–6
Soft and pureed foods. Protein soups are ideal here. GB BOOST in standard chewable form.
Month 3+
Return to solid foods. Lifelong supplementation continues. Blood tests every 6–12 months recommended.
What Happens Without Supplementation

Deficiency Doesn't Announce
Itself Loudly

Vitamin deficiencies after Gastric Bypass develop slowly and silently. By the time symptoms are obvious, the deficiency may have been building for months.

😴
Persistent Fatigue
The most common early sign of B12 or iron deficiency. Often dismissed as "normal recovery" — but it worsens over time without correction.
💇
Hair Thinning
Zinc and iron deficiency both cause hair loss post-surgery. Common and distressing — but preventable with adequate supplementation.
🦴
Bone Density Loss
Calcium and Vitamin D deficiency accumulates silently. Osteoporosis can develop over years without adequate supplementation from the start.
🧠
Nerve Damage
Severe B12 deficiency causes peripheral neuropathy — tingling, numbness in hands and feet. This damage can be irreversible if left too long.
🩸
Anaemia
Iron deficiency anaemia is the most common long-term complication of Gastric Bypass. Causes fatigue, pallor, cold intolerance, poor concentration.
🤒
Immune Weakness
Zinc and Vitamin D are both essential for immune function. Deficiency means more frequent infections, slower recovery from illness.
⚠️
Prevention is better than correction
Waiting until blood tests show a deficiency before supplementing means waiting until your body has already been depleted. The goal of GB BOOST is to prevent deficiencies from developing in the first place — not to correct them after the fact.
GB BOOST vs Generic Multivitamins

Designed for Your New Anatomy

🔵
14,000% RDA Vitamin B12
Standard multivitamins provide 100–200% RDA. GB BOOST provides 350 µg (14,000%) because bypass patients cannot absorb B12 normally. This isn't excessive — it's what post-bypass physiology requires.
No Iron — Intentionally
Generic supplements include iron. GB BOOST excludes it — because post-bypass iron needs to be dosed precisely and separately (use with FERRO BOOST when clinically indicated). Combined iron can interfere with other nutrient absorption.
☀️
500% RDA Vitamin D3
1,000 IU (25 µg) addresses the clinically documented D3 deficiency that develops post-bypass — particularly globally where baseline D levels are already low before surgery.
🧪
Bioavailable Ingredient Forms
Zinc Citrate (not oxide). Cyanocobalamin (stable B12). Chromium Picolinate. Every ingredient is in its most bioavailable form — because bioavailability matters even more when your gut is less efficient at absorption.
😊
Chewable — No Swallowing Large Pills
Post-bypass, swallowing large capsules can be uncomfortable. GB BOOST is a chewable lemon-flavoured tablet — small, easy to take, designed for post-op compliance.

Our Clinical Advantage

What Makes Nova Boost
Clinically Different

standard supplement brands is a good supplement company. Nova Boost is a supplement brand built inside a surgical company. Here is why that matters for Bypass patients.

🏥
We Manufacture the Surgical Instruments
XNY Medical produces the trocars, staplers and instruments used in Gastric Bypass procedures globally. We know what the surgeon does inside your body — and formulated GB BOOST around what that anatomy needs.
👨‍⚕️
Advisory Board of Practicing Bariatric Surgeons
Our supplement formulas were reviewed by bariatric surgeons from HMC Qatar (specialist bariatric surgeons), UAE, Jordan, Oman, Egypt and Kuwait — surgeons who operate on bypass patients regularly.
🌙
Built for the international & global Patient
European bariatric supplement brands are formulated for European patients. Our Advisory Board is based in international markets. The formula accounts for patients globally patient's higher baseline Vitamin D deficiency and dietary patterns.
🧪
Iron Bisglycinate — The Superior Form
When iron supplementation is needed (use FERRO BOOST alongside GB BOOST), we use Iron Bisglycinate — not ferrous sulphate. Bisglycinate doesn't require gastric acid or an intact duodenum for absorption. It's the right iron for a bypassed gut.
🏭
Manufactured in Türkiye to International Standards
Our manufacturing partner in Türkiye operates under GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and Turkish Food Codex standards. Proximity to the global means efficient, fresh-stock distribution.
🎓
Backed by GASS Academy
The Global Academy of Surgical Sciences by XNY Medical provides the educational framework behind our formulas. GASS connects surgical education with real-world patient nutrition — a level of clinical integration no standalone supplement brand can match.
FAQ

Common Questions After
Gastric Bypass

Why do I need different vitamins than before surgery?
Before surgery, your stomach produced acid that helped absorb B12, and your duodenum absorbed iron, zinc and calcium. Gastric Bypass reduces your stomach dramatically and reroutes food past the duodenum entirely. Standard vitamins are dosed for a normal digestive system — post-bypass, your system cannot extract nutrients the same way, and much higher doses are needed to achieve adequate blood levels.
Why doesn't GB BOOST contain iron?
This is intentional. Iron deficiency post-bypass is common, but the dose needed varies by individual, and iron can interfere with the absorption of other minerals when combined in one tablet. We recommend pairing GB BOOST with FERRO BOOST — a dedicated iron supplement using Iron Bisglycinate — if your blood tests or surgeon indicate iron supplementation is needed. This allows precise, targeted iron management.
When should I start taking GB BOOST after surgery?
Begin as soon as you can tolerate oral supplements — typically 1–2 weeks post-surgery. GB BOOST is chewable so it doesn't require swallowing large capsules. Start with one tablet per day as directed by your bariatric team, ideally with a small meal to improve tolerability.
How long do I need to take vitamins after Gastric Bypass?
Lifelong. Gastric Bypass permanently changes your digestive anatomy — the absorption challenges do not resolve over time. Clinical guidelines from IFSO, ASMBS and EAES all recommend lifelong post-bypass supplementation. This is not optional additional care; it is the standard of care for every Bypass patient.
Is GB BOOST halal?
GB BOOST is manufactured in Türkiye in Türkiye, which operates a Halal Certified supply chain. The product is free from alcohol, pork fat and derivatives, and MSG. We recommend patients with specific halal certification requirements consult with our team for the latest certification documentation.
Can I take GB BOOST alongside other medications?
GB BOOST is a nutritional supplement, not a medication. However, we always recommend informing your bariatric surgeon or pharmacist about all supplements you are taking. Some medications interact with certain vitamins — for example, some antidepressants interact with high-dose B6, and thyroid medication should be separated from calcium intake by 4 hours.
Gastric Sleeve Journey

Stronger After
Sleeve Surgery

Gastric Sleeve creates different nutritional challenges than Bypass — your absorption pathway is largely intact, but reduced enzyme secretion and food volume create specific deficiencies. GS BOOST is built around them.

How Sleeve differs from Bypass
Stomach reduced by 80%: Stomach size reduced from ~1L to ~150ml — but the absorption pathway is maintained
Less acid & enzymes: Reduced ghrelin production, less intrinsic factor affecting B12 absorption
Duodenum intact: Iron absorption is less affected than Bypass — but still at risk from reduced food volume
Bone health focus: Reduced food volume affects calcium intake — Vitamin K1 added specifically for sleeve patients
The Sleeve Difference

Different Surgery,
Different Formula

GS BOOST contains ingredients that GB BOOST deliberately excludes — and vice versa. This is because Sleeve and Bypass create genuinely different nutritional environments. A single "bariatric multivitamin" cannot optimally serve both.

🦴 Why GS BOOST adds Vitamin K1
Vitamin K1 (Phytomenadione) directs calcium to bones, not soft tissue. Combined with Vitamin D3 at 500% RDA, this pairing is clinically important for Sleeve patients who face long-term bone density risk from reduced calcium-rich food intake.
What's different in GS BOOST vs GB BOOST
🦴
Vitamin K1 — Unique to GS BOOST
Not in GB BOOST. Sleeve patients need K1 for proper calcium utilisation. GB BOOST patients get enough from dietary sources with bypass physiology.
🏋️
Magnesium 60mg — Unique to GS BOOST
Supports muscle function, sleep quality and energy metabolism. Commonly depleted with reduced food volume — not a bypass-specific issue.
🧠
Choline — Unique to GS BOOST
Supports liver fat metabolism during rapid weight loss phase. Particularly important in sleeve patients undergoing significant body composition change.
💅
Biotin 300% RDA
Hair thinning is one of the most common and distressing side effects reported after sleeve surgery. Biotin supports hair, nail and skin health.
Recovery Timeline

Your First Weeks
After Sleeve Surgery

Surgery Day
Laparoscopic sleeve procedure. Hospital stay 1–2 days typically.
Week 1–2
Clear liquids. Begin chewable GS BOOST as soon as tolerated — typically 5–7 days post-op.
Week 3–4
Pureed and soft foods. Protein soups are ideal. Continue GS BOOST daily.
Month 2+
Gradual return to solid foods. Lifelong supplementation. Monitor blood work at 3 and 6 months.
Signs of Deficiency

What Your Body Tells You When
Nutrients Are Low

💇
Hair Thinning
Very common 3–6 months post-sleeve. Related to zinc, iron and biotin deficiency combined with the physical stress of rapid weight loss.
😴
Fatigue & Low Energy
B12 and iron deficiency both cause fatigue. After sleeve, B12 absorption decreases due to reduced intrinsic factor — supplementation is essential.
🦴
Joint & Bone Pain
Long-term calcium and Vitamin D deficiency causes measurable bone density loss. Often symptom-free for years before fracture risk increases.
🤒
Frequent Illness
Zinc and Vitamin D are critical for immune function. Deficiency means slower recovery, more frequent infections, poor wound healing.
💊
Muscle Cramps
Magnesium deficiency causes muscle cramps and spasms — particularly at night. Magnesium is included in GS BOOST specifically for sleeve patients.
😔
Low Mood
B12 and Vitamin D deficiency both affect mood and cognitive function. Depression and low mood post-sleeve are sometimes deficiency-related, not psychological.
GS BOOST Clinical Rationale

Why GS BOOST Is Not GB BOOST

🦴
Vitamin K1 for Bone Protection
K1 activates osteocalcin — the protein that binds calcium to bone. Without adequate K1, calcium supplementation is less effective. This is a Sleeve-specific addition not found in bypass formulas.
🏋️
Magnesium for Energy & Sleep
Sleeve patients report poor sleep quality and muscle cramps frequently. Magnesium addresses both. 60mg Magnesium Sulfate/oxide is included in GS BOOST — absent from GB BOOST.
🧠
Choline for Liver Health
During the rapid weight loss phase of sleeve recovery, the liver mobilises significant fat stores. Choline supports healthy liver fat metabolism, reducing risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver issues.
💅
Biotin at 300% RDA
Hair loss at months 3–6 post-sleeve is one of the most emotionally difficult side effects. Adequate Biotin, Zinc and Iron (use FERRO BOOST if needed) directly addresses the main nutritional drivers.

Built by Surgeons.
For the international Patient.

Our Advisory Board of global bariatric surgeons informed both what GS BOOST contains — and what it deliberately omits.

👨‍⚕️
global Surgeon Input
Surgeons from multiple countries contributed to the formulation approach — accounting for dietary patterns, sun exposure, and deficiency profiles specific to bariatric patients.

🎯
Sleeve ≠ Bypass Formula
Most "bariatric multivitamins" are labelled for all surgeries. GS BOOST and GB BOOST are different products. Sleeve patients need K1, Magnesium and Choline. Bypass patients need ultra-high B12. These are not the same.

FAQ

Common Questions After
Gastric Sleeve

Is Gastric Sleeve nutritionally safer than Bypass?
The absorption pathway is intact after Sleeve, which means some nutrients (particularly iron) are less severely affected than after Bypass. However, the significantly reduced stomach volume and decreased enzyme production still create important deficiencies — particularly B12, Vitamin D, and zinc. Supplementation is still lifelong and mandatory after Sleeve surgery.
Why does GS BOOST have Vitamin K1 but GB BOOST doesn't?
Vitamin K1 is included in GS BOOST because Sleeve patients face significant long-term bone health risk from reduced calcium-rich food intake. K1 activates the proteins that bind calcium to bone. Bypass patients have different bone health considerations — their formula (GB BOOST) is optimised differently.
What causes hair loss after Gastric Sleeve?
Hair loss at 3–6 months post-sleeve is caused by a combination of factors: the physical stress of surgery (telogen effluvium), rapid protein restriction, and developing deficiencies in zinc, iron and biotin. GS BOOST addresses the nutritional drivers. If hair loss is severe, consider adding FERRO BOOST if iron deficiency is confirmed by blood test.
How long should I take GS BOOST?
Lifelong. Gastric Sleeve permanently reduces your stomach capacity and enzyme production. The nutritional challenges do not resolve with time. Clinical guidelines recommend lifelong supplementation after all bariatric procedures, including Sleeve gastrectomy.
GLP-1 Program Journey

Stronger On Your
GLP-1 Journey

GLP-1 medications work by dramatically reducing your appetite. When you eat significantly less, you get significantly fewer nutrients — even if what you eat is healthy. GLP-1 BOOST fills those gaps.

What GLP-1 medication does
Appetite suppression: Patients typically eat 30–60% less than before — which creates progressive nutrient gaps
No surgical changes: Absorption is normal — the problem is reduced nutrient input, not impaired absorption
Muscle loss risk: Rapid weight loss without adequate protein causes muscle loss alongside fat loss
Energy & fatigue: B12, iron and B2 deficiency from reduced intake causes the fatigue many GLP-1 patients report
The GLP-1 Nutrition Problem

Less Food Means
Fewer Nutrients

GLP-1 medications don't change how you absorb nutrients — they change how much you eat. At 30–60% of previous intake, even a well-balanced reduced diet often falls short of minimum daily requirements for iron, B12, Vitamin D and zinc.

💡 The GLP-1 nutrient gap
Many GLP-1 patients feel fatigued 3–6 months into treatment. This is often not a medication side effect — it is a nutritional deficiency caused by consuming too little iron, B12 and B2. GLP-1 BOOST is specifically designed around these gaps.
Nutrients most at risk on GLP-1
🔴
Iron — High Risk
Iron-rich foods (red meat, leafy greens) are often the first foods reduced or eliminated. Iron deficiency develops insidiously — fatigue and hair loss are common symptoms.
🔵
Vitamin B12 — Moderate-High Risk
B12 is primarily found in animal products — meat, fish, eggs, dairy. Reduced intake of these foods means reduced B12. Deficiency causes fatigue and neurological symptoms.
☀️
Vitamin D3 — High Risk
Very few foods are high in Vitamin D. Even with normal eating, most people are insufficient. At reduced intake, deficiency is almost inevitable without supplementation.
🔶
Zinc & Copper — Moderate Risk
Zinc and copper are found in foods patients tend to eat less of on GLP-1 — meat, shellfish, legumes. GLP-1 BOOST provides both Zinc (150% RDA) and Copper (190% RDA).
Common GLP-1 Side Effects That Are Actually Deficiencies

Fatigue on GLP-1 Is Often
Nutritional — Not Medical

These are symptoms GLP-1 patients commonly report as "side effects" — but are often driven by micronutrient deficiencies from reduced intake.

😴
Persistent Fatigue
Iron and B12 deficiency. If you feel constantly tired 3+ months into GLP-1 therapy, get your iron and B12 tested before assuming it's the medication.
💇
Hair Thinning
Rapid weight loss on GLP-1 causes telogen effluvium — hair shedding. Zinc, iron and biotin deficiency worsen it significantly. All three are addressed in GLP-1 BOOST.
💪
Muscle Weakness
Rapid weight loss on GLP-1 can cause muscle mass loss if protein intake is insufficient. Vitamin D also supports muscle function — GLP-1 BOOST provides 500% RDA of D3.
💅
Brittle Nails
Biotin (600% RDA in GLP-1 BOOST) and zinc both support nail health. Brittle nails developing during GLP-1 therapy are a useful early sign of these deficiencies.
🧠
Poor Concentration
B12 and iron are both essential for cognitive function and mood. "Brain fog" on GLP-1 therapy is often a B12 or iron deficiency symptom, not a medication effect.
🤒
Frequent Illness
Zinc and Vitamin D are the primary immune-supporting micronutrients. Deficiency means lower resistance to viral infections.
GLP-1 BOOST Clinical Rationale

Why Iron and Copper Are
Central to This Formula

🔴
Iron Bisglycinate — 121% RDA
Iron Bisglycinate is the most bioavailable and gut-friendly form of iron. At 17mg per capsule, it addresses the iron deficiency that quietly develops as GLP-1 patients reduce meat and leafy greens.
🟠
Copper at 190% RDA
Copper is often overlooked. It's essential for iron metabolism, bone matrix formation and immune function. Foods high in copper — shellfish, organ meats, nuts — are exactly what GLP-1 patients eat less of.
💅
Biotin 600% RDA + Zinc 150% RDA
The combination targets hair thinning and nail brittleness — the cosmetic concerns that most affect GLP-1 patient quality of life and compliance. These are not vanity nutrients; they are markers of micronutrient adequacy.
💊
Easy Capsule — No Food Required
GLP-1 patients have reduced appetite and may not always eat a meal at supplement time. The capsule format tolerates being taken with just water — though with a small amount of food is preferred.

FAQ

Common Questions About
GLP-1 & Nutrition

Do I need supplements on GLP-1 if I eat healthily?
Yes. Even a very healthy diet at 30–60% of normal intake volumes will fall below minimum daily requirements for several micronutrients. No amount of dietary quality compensates for insufficient quantity when it comes to iron, B12 and Vitamin D. GLP-1 BOOST is designed to fill those gaps efficiently in one daily capsule.
When should I start taking GLP-1 BOOST?
Ideally from the start of your GLP-1 program, before deficiencies develop. Prevention is more effective than correction. If you're already on GLP-1 medication and haven't been supplementing, begin immediately — and consider getting a blood test to check current iron and B12 levels.
Can I take GLP-1 BOOST alongside my GLP-1 medication?
Yes. GLP-1 BOOST is a nutritional supplement and does not interact with GLP-1 medications (semaglutide, liraglutide, tirzepatide). We recommend informing your prescribing physician about all supplements. Take GLP-1 BOOST with a small amount of food if possible to improve iron and fat-soluble vitamin absorption.
Is hair loss normal on GLP-1?
Hair loss at 3–6 months is common and often caused by a combination of rapid weight loss (telogen effluvium) and developing deficiencies in zinc, iron and biotin. GLP-1 BOOST addresses all three nutritional drivers. If hair loss is severe, ensure you are also consuming adequate protein — consider Nova Boost Instant Soups as a high-protein, convenient meal option.

40 Years of
Surgical Innovation

XNY Medical is a family-held company headquartered in Changzhou, China, with offices in the UAE, Spain and Brazil. For four decades, XNY has designed and manufactured the surgical instruments that bariatric surgeons use every day. That proximity to the operating room is what makes Nova Boost different — our formulas are informed by surgeons who understand what these procedures actually do to the human body.

Our Mission

Why We Built
Nova Boost

Bariatric patients are among the most nutritionally vulnerable people in healthcare. We saw this through 40 years of building the instruments used in their surgeries. Standard multivitamins don't account for what a Bypass or Sleeve actually does to the digestive system. We built Nova Boost to fill that gap — with surgical knowledge behind every formula.

"Our mission is to enhance each individual's well-being — providing the right nutrition at every stage of the bariatric journey. Not a general supplement. The right one."
